Tipping Guidelines

Tipping Guidelines

At Queen of East Africa Luxury Tours, our guides, rangers, and camp staff are passionate about creating an exceptional journey for you. Tipping is a personal gesture of gratitude, never an obligation, and entirely at your discretion.

  • Safari Guides & Drivers: Guests often choose to present a personal thank-you at the end of their journey.
  • Lodges & Camps: Many properties have a central tip box to ensure appreciation is shared among all staff, including those working behind the scenes.
  • Trekking & Excursions: On activities such as gorilla trekking, chimpanzee tracking, or boat safaris, small gestures of thanks are always warmly received by rangers, trackers, or boat captains.
  • Transfers & Porters: A token of appreciation may be offered if service has been especially attentive.

We recommend bringing USD (2009 or newer, crisp bills) or local currency for convenience.

Above all, please remember: the most valuable gift you give is your appreciation. Tipping is never expected, but always cherished as a reflection of your experience.c
