Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe – Shores of Serenity

Arrive at Entebbe International Airport where your private safari concierge will welcome you and transfer you to your luxury lakeside hotel. If time allows, enjoy a guided visit to the Entebbe Botanical Gardens—home to the African Grey Parrot and Great Blue Turaco.

we will have our first breakfast in the pearl of Africa and Set off early to Mabamba Swamp, where you will take a boat ride on Lake Victoria-  largest tropical lake in the world, then switch to a traditional canoe to glide through the papyrus channel in search of the rare Shoebill Stork, that is often seen motionless in the reeds, you will spot other birds that include; the African Fish Eagle, Papyrus Gonolek, and Blue-breasted Bee-eater. After drive to Kibale Forest National Park with a an en-route lunch. Our journey will take you gentle hills, roadside markets bursting with fresh produce, plantations, and scenic views of the Rwenzori Mountain and craters. We will then proceed to the lodge for checkin, dinner and overnight.

Chimpundu Lodge is strategically located near the Kanyanchu Visitor Centre, the launch point for Kibale’s prime activity the chimpanzee tracking.  the lodge offers panoramic views of Kibale’s canopy and the distant Rwenzori Mountains. At night, the rustling trees and distant calls of primates create a soundtrack of serenity. The lodge’s architectural footprint reflects the indigenous landscape, with elevated walkways and cottages designed to preserve natural drainage and minimize habitat disruption.

Head into the misty Kibale rainforest for we will begin the day with early breakfast, and proceed to the park to the visitors center at headquarters for briefing, and get your private ranger who will lead you into chimpanzee natural home for chimpanzee tracking, you will trek in the heart of the tropical forest that is home to over 1500 chimpanzees, ad 13 other primate species red-tailed monkeys, black-and-white colobus, and grey-cheeked mangabeys that can be sighted along the way, the trek in unpredictable as it can take 2- 6hours depending on the location of the chimps, once found, you will spend an hour observing them, watching them bond, groom, eat, play, communicate with each other, how they use tools, which is pretty exciting, after an hour up close with the chimps we will trek out of the forest.
Upgrade to Chimpanzee Habituation Experience where you get to spend many hours with the chimpanzees not just one hour as on chimp tracking,you will be with the chimps  from the time they come out of their nests  observing their behaviors and their other activities,

We will have lunch then drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s largest parks characterized by Savannah plains, tropical forest, Kazinga channel and volcanic crater lakes, hosting abundance of wildlife. Check in into the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Kyambura Gorge Lodge
The lodge was originally a colonial-era coffee store, later upgraded to an Eco-luxury retreat, offering great views of the Kyambura gorge and Mount Rwenzori. The lodge sits on the eastern escarpment of Queen Elizabeth National Park, adjacent to the Kyambura Game Reserve, allowing visitors to explore the park.

We will start our day by exploring Queen Elizabeth national Park with an early morning game drive, later have a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel for more game viewing opportunities, as you glide along the channel, you will have a number of game sightings from buffaloes, elephants bathing at the edge of the channel, to hippos yawning; this channel has the highest concentration of hippo in the world. We will see lots of birds along the way, for a more fulfilling safari experience.  

After exploring the park we will proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park the home of the Mountain gorillas, where we will arrive in the evening for an overnight at the lodge.

Gorilla tracking in Buhoma, the northern gateway to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, is where Uganda’s gorilla tourism began. The Buhoma sector is the oldest and most established gorilla tracking sector in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park,  since 1993 when the first family was opened for tracking . Buhoma offers relatively gentle terrain, making it ideal for first-time trekkers and visitors that can not cop with a challenging terrain.

First we will have an early morning breakfast, then briefing by the UWA officials at the park headquarter, where a ranger will be allocated to you then leads on the trail to  gorilla trekking expedition, the trek is challenging as some terrains are steep, unpredictable; some trails go through waterfalls, tangled vines, and sudden clearings. Some days, the gorillas are near and Other days, the trek stretches into hours , ranging from 2 to 8 hours, depending on the gorilla group’s location, But always, the reward is profound and incomparable.

Once you locate them, you will have a sacred hour with a mountain gorilla family, standing close to them, where you can hear them, smell them, watch them bond, move, feed, interact with each other, you may see the silverback poised as head of the family, infants swinging by and other families boding closely. Standing 7 m away from the gorillas a heart melting and an exceptional experience.

After breakfast transfer to Lake Mburo National Park through scenic hills and Ankole cattle country. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat ride on Lake Mburo with great game sights especially the hippos, buffaloes and lots of birds. As you drive through the park to the lodge, you will enjoy enroute game viewing of the zebras, impalas, and birding highlights like the Red-faced Barbet.

Lake Mburo National Park offers charming safari opportunities into Uganda’s wilderness, it’s a less crowded park with great activities, It’s lack of elephants or lions, permits walking safaris and horseback rides, cycling which is an intimate way of encountering wildlife.
Lake Mburo National Park spans 260 km² in Uganda’s western corridor, forming part of the Ankole Rift Valley, with lots of  acacia woodland, savannah, wetland, and lakes that supports lots of wildlife such as  impalas(only found this park), Rothschild’s giraffes, Burchell’s zebras eland, buffaloes, warthogs, and lots more.

We will to wake to an early wildlife viewing on foot, with a ranger explore open plains, acacia woodlands, and wetlands on foot, the trail starts at Rwonyo leading you  to the salt licks, hilltops, and Rubanga Forest, to watch zebras, elands, buffaloes, impalas on foot, standing in the wild, with the wild. 
After drive to Entebbe with with a stopover at the iconic Equator for experiments; proceed to Entebbe international Airport for your international flight.
